1-Minute Thought: The Single Most Important Indicator Of An Entrepreneur’s Success According To Naval Ravikant
Entrepreneurship is primarily about building for the future!
You should have heard about Naval Ravikant if you're a modern entrepreneur (unless you live under a rock, inside a cave, somewhere in my village I have only visited once in my life😂).
When I first heard of him on Twitter, I thought he was another pseudonym or a group of people gathering thoughts from an ancient philosopher like Socrates or Plato (seriously).
Then I saw his videos on LinkedIn and YouTube, and I was like, hey, Naval is a real, living person!🥲
His wisdom on leadership, entrepreneurship, and innovation is simply wonderful—simple, practical, and timeless.
He’s a billionaire, and the co-founder of AngelList, and his brother Kamal Ravikant is also an amazing person!
This particular interview from Startup Grind from 10 years back about the single most important indicator of an entrepreneur's success spoke a lot about an important trait of successful entrepreneurs—I love it!
Let me share the excerpt with you:
"One common trait I found amongst many of the great companies is that the founders are in it for the long haul, and the way you see that evidence is that very early on, they are extremely deliberate about all kinds of small decisions, stuff you might think that doesn't matter—why are you obsessing over it? And what you realise is that their nature to obsess over these things is because they are building—they feel like they are laying the bricks of the foundation of a skyscraper, so they have to get every little detail right and sometimes that obsessiveness can drive you crazy when they are always questioning, questioning, tweaking, tweaking tweaking, but then when you look back over the ages, you realise that's the mark of someone who's thinking really far forward and that what makes them think at such a detailed level now...whereas the people who sort of flipping about things and are you know, kind of just take it as it comes they are often signalling to you and maybe even to themselves that they will sell the company the first chance they get or the moment that it looks like they're gonna run out of cash they'll shut down. So I think that long-term mentality is probably the single most important factor in an entrepreneur's success."
And this is so true, so valid!
Entrepreneurship is a marathon, not always a dash.
I agree with Naval's point.
Entrepreneurs who understand what they are building and its importance will obsess over every detail—even the smallest things no one can see or care about!
This trait indicates how much an entrepreneur or innovator loves and adores what they are building.
Sometimes, this obsession becomes annoying to team members and partners. But to the entrepreneur, they know what they are doing.
They know that they are not just building for now but for the future.
When I study great products—from books to music, software, houses, appliances, and anything people use that meets their needs—I am always fascinated by the attention to detail—and it's actually that attention to detail that makes products and even services stand out!
What should you take out of this?
Be deliberate about every detail of your business.
You'll stand out from the rushy, in-a-hurry crowd!
What do you think?
Drop your thoughts.

I guess I was part of the group of those who live under a rock, inside a cave, somewhere in your village you have only visited once in your life, until I read the writeup😅
Thank you for sharing Sir. The journey of entrepreneurship is a marathon, not a sprint. It'll take more than the zeal; your conviction for what you intend to build must not just be worth its success, but worth the try even if it fails. Thank you for sharing sir, it's a read worthwhile.
